As like Ian, I also have the NL PPP in the back next to my fridge. It does take up space, but I can move it around as needed. And when I camp at the spot for a number of days, I can remove the battery pack and fridge and place it in the tent if required That is a good point. I would lose the versat...

If you are going to Alexander Bay you may just as well do a dogleg through a part of the Richtersveld.
