Re: Yet another difflock dies!

Wont it be cheaper to source a 2nd hand diff from Dawid? That is an option, but for the moment I will drive lockerless (if that"s even a word) I recon you could get an even better price if you handed in your old axle too... I recently had both my axles swapped out for Manual 4.8 axles by Errol. He ...

Re: Yet another difflock dies!

Oh dear.... Drained the diff oil. It wasn't new, but not bad at all. Stuck to the drain plug magnet were shards of what I think are side gear teeth. Horrible news mate!

Which rear diff does your truck run? The H233 or the H260?

Good luck, I hope its not too bad inside.
H233 I believe. the 260 is on the 4.5 petrol

Yet another difflock dies!

I killed my difflock I have been pedantic about engaging and disengaging my factory rear locker. Always engaged it while stationary. If the light still flashed I'd crawl forward slightly to allow it to engage before pulling off. I don't use it often, but when I do I need it. Over the long weekend I ...

Re: Sojo Auotmotive....... the TD42 one stop shop

I was lucky enough to be there for the Dyno testing of the bakkie.

I believe I correctly quote the young man doing the test as saying "Julle's mal...!!"

Daai bakkie het baie Krag. 3 times the factory power and torque!

Congratulations Michael. I'm sure the owner will enjoy it.

Re: TD42 injector pump

Hi Edward any relation to Ronald Weatherall-Thomas? Michael has done loads of turbo conversions using the standard td42 pump both with and without the boost compensator. I recon it probably needs to be tuned by someone who knows the ins and outs of turbos and turbodiesel tuning. A visit to Michael w...

Re: 2000 4.2 Patrol Diesel water trap empty?

You can just drain the water. The trap is on the bottom of the diesel filter. It has a drain which you twist to drain the water. Dont twist all the way out, just enough to drain any water.
