Re: Knock sensor code 0325 and overfueling

Hi Steve I chatted to Steven Green and your theory is in fact correct. It is over fueling because of the knock sensor and the fault is directly related to the sensor. Knock sensor will severely retard timing. According to Steven either electrical (BAD CONNECTION/FAULTY WIRING) or mechanical fault wi...

Re: Patrol rear off road bumper options

Good question

I would also like to know as I really want to get the spare wheel off the barn door...

Michael once mentioned BJC or something like that..

Not sure if they are doing a rear bumper though?

Re: Patrol 4.2 SGL - 1996 for sale

Hi Michael
Do Tombo radiators have a suitable fit?
When you say major upgrade..
Do you mean a major job or major beneficial to do the change over?
And would the existing radiator shroud then fit?

Thanks in advance

Re: Patrol 4.2 SGL - 1996 for sale

I did a bit of a search.. These seldom achieve more than 65 k on the sale You get 4.5 Petrols from 90 k and 4.8 GRX from 120 k On this Forum there was one for sale a while ago with half the mileage http://www.patrol4x4.co.za/viewtopic.php?t=5556 So for me personally I think this is a little on the h...

Re: Patrol 4.2 SGL - 1996 for sale

I may be interested in this vehicle..

But the pricing seems a little high, although the vehicle seems to be in good nick..

Anyone here have an opinion on what would be a reasonable price to offer the seller?

Re: EGT TEMPS ON 4.8 PETROL PATROL

So tonight I did some testing, thinking I would drive conservatively just to see what it really looks like at various speeds At 100 km 100 km.jpg At 120 km 120 km.jpg At 140 km 140 km.jpg at 150 km 150 km.jpg When keeping constant speed with small throttle input it fluctuates between 600 and 650. De...

Re: low range gears

Hi Peter You could try Broadway Heat Treatment to do material analysis and hardness test. Cost around R 385 excl. Take around 5 minutes. I would suspect EN 36 B and a hardness of around 55 to 58 Hrc is what you will find. That would be a pretty safe material to use. However EN 24 would be an option ...

Re: EGT TEMPS ON 4.8 PETROL PATROL

Thankyou Peter for the interesting links It does seem that the Temps I am reading are within ‘normal’ parameters. Its just a shocker once you become aware of the actual heat generated and resultant EGT’S. Without the means to measure we drive and remain blissfully ignorant. My desire to be able to r...

Re: EGT TEMPS ON 4.8 PETROL PATROL

Thanks JP

That's the kind of info I need to know.

Anyone know what normal operating EGT's on a large straight 6 would be?
I could test the thermocouple with a heat gun except that at prsent the distance between Heat Gun and Patrol is 300 km
