Re: What LED Torch/Flashlight is best

I still use the ‘old school’ maglite with the LED bulb. I love the thing.
Sure there’s many many torches out there that are way brighter than it these days, but I still prefer it, nice and heavy and rugged, it’s just never going to break.

Re: Patrols for Sale - Various sites

Thank you for the info Jules. That’s really appreciated. It does look as if that car has had a bit of a tough life. Looking at the drivers seat I would swear this vehicle should have double the mileage on. That rust is terrible as well. I would guess the majority of that mileage was spent running on...

Re: 29 March - 09 April 2018 Botswana Explorer's Route

Shoo, are we sure this was a patrol club trip and not the Land Rover club?
I’m joking I’m joking. Don’t shoot!!

By the sounds of things so far it seems this could be one of the most epic trips to have ever occured. Can’t wait for the pics and more stories

Re: 4.8 rough idle and stalling

I hope you did some work where the battery acid spilt! That stuff will eat away your whole car right in front of your very eyes! Make a baking soda / water paste mix and scrub that spill, will neutralize the acid and stop more corrosion I actually havent sorted the spill out yet  I had a l...

Re: Shadecloth cover radiator

Just remember to ONLY have the net on going through the grass. Don’t leave it on for any longer than you have to as it limits the airflow big time.

Re: Patrol Spotting

I’m pretty sure I just drove past a white GU on a flatbed here in harties. Maybe a 4.5?

Covered in mud and fully kitted, must have bombed out on a holiday? A Botswana casualty maybe?

Re: 4.8 rough idle and stalling

Tinus sorted this in 1 second of the bonnet opening - one of the wires that goes to my MAF has a connector on it that you can interchange with the connector on the chip that’s in it, but not being used. The connector was loose so the cable wasn’t connected. Plugged it back, crimped with the leather ...

Re: 4.8 rough idle and stalling

I did think about the fuel filter, but other than idling it seems to perform very well still, pulls strong etc, and no stuttering. Its just at idle.

Interesting JP, mine has just recently clocked over 230 000kms
