Not surprised. The lifts for our little hyundai i10 boot are buggered - hyundai quoted close to R2k each! :lol: Ive been struggling to get aftermarket ones that work though, Midas keep supplying me with ones that are far too weak. I just want to add that there are some beautiful stretches on the other side of the river. I spent a day driving from Vioolsdrift to Sendelingsdrift in July last year, wild-camping somewhere next to the Orange. It was fabulous!
