Christoph, really happy that you are pleased with the result. Just to add a little bit more info on what was done. This conversion was just aimed to get his Patrol out of "donkey mode". Jip as Cedric said it makes no difference, you just set the valve ckearance back to 0.30mm and all is back to spec and the valves will open just as far as they did the day it started for the first time

Oom Mac, you mean where does the rocker material go which was there and now is only a dent? I believe they are "hopefully" caught up by the oil filters. This occurs over hundreds of thousends of km and even if they never went through the oil filters it will not do anything. Peter, it sounds way more...

Cedric, yes its really easy and anyone with a angle grinder with a very fine flap disc can do it. You would be surprised how little the flap disc takes off when using it with caution. It does have that curve to it, but if you take away an even amount of material you can keep the same curve and have ...

Ha ha yes Cedric, that polishing of the rockers work like a bomb!! Doing it on all the engines I build and they have no pore clapping tappets :thumbup:

It will take you 2 hours max........do it!
