Re: Patrol Spotting

I have seen this well kitted Patrol in Rooihuiskraal, Centurion a number of times, managed to get the cellphone photo this morning, Sat 14 April.

Re: 29 March - 09 April 2018 Botswana Explorer's Route

Re: Lesotho and Snow......

Re: Patrol Spotting

Ok, guilty to start off with, posting here is useless without a photo.... :imsorry: Seen two well equipped Patrol's lately in Rooihuiskraal, Centurion (I think both are 4.5's): - Last night there was a two tone green Y60 at the Sasol, Maraboe and Hofsanger in Rooihuiskraal; and - This morning around...

Re: BullBar..Is it really necessary for Overlanding

For over landing I would think a bull bar is necessary from a safety point of view, ie unexpected meetings with taxi's, cattle etc. Also for the reasons already mentioned re lifting points. I have seen on a forum where a road traveled, I think it was on Hunters Road in Botswana, was so muddy that th...

Re: TWO-WAY RADIO CONSIDERATIONS FOR 4X4 DRIVERS

Range is dependent on many factors, but in general between two vehicles when the radios are both used in two vehicles you could expect about 1 - 1.5km, but by using two magnetic base antennas then we are looking at 5-6km, assuming level road with no obstacles in both cases. Fixed mobile radios woul...

As long as there are oil to pump and sell in the middle east, there will be internal combustion engines.
