Re: Air bag replacement

Thanks Cedric. Yes I have never seen one either but was hoping someone on the forum who has a chip and has had their air bag replaced would have replied if they had experienced something similar. Thats assuming though that it was tested with the Nissan Consult thingy.

Air bag replacement

Hi all. I took my Patrol to Nissan in Port Shepstone today for that airbag recall. It took about 3 hour to do and afterwards the mechanic called me and showed me his Nissan diagnostic device could not find the EU. He asked me if it had been chipped as that would cause the problem but I dont know if ...

Over boost sensor

Hi Guys. I have a question about the over boost sensor. After returning to SA after a year away, I popped in to see Brian at Mad Man to inquire if he now had the turbo boost module that fits onto the gauge. He will let me know when they are back in stock. If one has the boost and manifold informatio...

Re: Narrow or wide

After encountering a lot of bridges on my travels, that were just logs tied together, I was pleased I had wide tires at the time as I felt that thin ones were more likely to slip into the sometimes wide cracks between the logs. So yes, arguments for both, but in my opinion a truck with marie biscuit...

Re: Narrow or wide

I think Peter has hit the nail on the head with the explanation that a thinner tire has a longer footprint and so works better in sand. I had always wondered why 4x4s up Africa favour a thinner tire and was surprised at the reason but it makes sense. I must admit though that it looks wrong and the f...

Re: pop up roof top tent, 2.2x1.4m

I dont know anything about the Alu pop up tents except the only person I spoke to who had one, complained that the rain came in through the windows because of the design. That was back in 2013 so the design has probably changed by now. I was however very envious at the speed he could take it down an...

Re: GU Patrol Air Guide

Hi Peter. That's quite interesting your travelling back home from Ghana. Are you going to go through Angola? If so, how did you arrange for a visa? I was told while in Ghana that I would have fly to South Africa, get a visa in Pretoria, fly back and then could cross Angola. I ask this as Angola has ...

Re: GU Patrol Air Guide

Hi Peter. Are you in Accra? If so, there are quite a few scrap yards there and quite a big choice. There is also a Nissan agent there who were very helpful. I took a taxi and the driver seemed to know where to go and also spoke the language which was a big help.
