Re: low range gears

My "future ex brother-in-law", does gear cutting. Ar these gears straight cut or what do they look like. If someone has a picture of what it will look like than I can send it to him and ask. I know his price will be very very good too.

Re: Erratic starting after standing a day

Dirk, I was told to service the injectors every 90 000Km, but I know some guys have probably never checked them. General rule of thumb is that if you have used some dodgy diesel or had water in the diesel that managed to get through to the injectors then give them a service, I know Grant was a littl...

Re: Erratic starting after standing a day

Dirk, I did the Lesotho snow trip with only 2 glow plugs actually warming up to a point where only the tips went a dull red and I could still start the motor. It did cough and splutter for maybe 2-3 seconds once the motor started. It took a little longer cranking to get the motor to start, but start...

Re: Erratic starting after standing a day

dInjectors is a bliksem to check unless you have the means to pressurize the fuel to the requires "bar" pressure. Bosch diesel electric will check them for you much easier. If you are going to attempt to remove the injectors, BE VERY CAREFUL of the spill rail ( its the thing with 6 rings c...

Re: 2 Issues i need help with.

Russ, A multimeter will also work. Set it to Ohms and place each end of the probes on each end of the little piece of metal that is exposed on the top of the fuse. If it shows a "0" value then the fuse is still good. If it shows a "1" then you need to replace the fuse. Lights don...

Re: Expansion Tank too full

I just had a brain fart.... you mentioned earlier that the block was a bit dirty and now with the new coolant/antifreeze, the block is looking better, or cleaner. Maybe with the "cleaning effect" of the coolant, the dirt that was assisting with the sealing has now been cleaned out exposing...
