Re: low range gears

I don't mean to be a stick in the mud here, but why does want to lower the ratios even with 33" tyres? In my opinion sand or dune driving is just that... driving. On the river trip I was mostly in 4H and was fully loaded. Juice (Greg) found that 4L worked better for him. The difference was mine...

Perfect Adrian. I'll give you a shout closer to the time, then we can make a plan. Its easier to do one shipping than multiple.

Re: Dull Headlight Lenses

I'm looking at importing the LED globes from China ( where everything seems to be made anyway) but have also recently ordered some gas burners for my gas braai that I have, that nobody seems to have spares for. Sadly it has taken just over 2 months to get the parcel to show that is is finally out of...

Re: TD42 TDI

Keep in mind that here in SA we never got the GU Wagon in a TD42T or TD42iT. We do have the GU Pickup in a TD42, TD42T and TD42iT ( not 100% sure about the TD42T though - i = intercooler )

The Wagon and Pick up have different G/box ratios as far as I know.

Re: 4x4 propshaft

Peter, I agree no thick grease in the joint, but would copper-slip very thin not be a good idea? I understand that the grease would/could hamper a tight fit, but thought the copper-slip will prevent any moisture from working its way into the joint center.

Re: 4x4 propshaft

No, it wouldn't make any difference, as the prop is/should be already balanced separately. I think due to there only being one nut and bolt on there, it will be sort of easy to see which position to put the prop back on aligning up the 2 clean/shiny holes with each other.
