Re: My '98 GU 4.2D

Haha.... I recall when I rebuilt my motor, there was the one bolt between the block and the IP that was a pain to get at, but if I recall removing the vacuum pump made it easier.... was a long time ago, but my hands also still start hurting at the thought of that day....

Re: TD42 all of a sudden overheating

I just want to let everyone know what I experienced from a certain company. I don't get anything out of this, so it is a genuine happiness award to Marino4x4 here on the forum who with him and his wife, run Terain 4x4 Parts. ( http://www.terrainparts.co.za/ ). They really went above and beyond expec...

Re: My '98 GU 4.2D

Nicely done !!! Suggestion... if still possible. If there is enough meat on the wall thickness of the reducer fitting, try machine a small lip on both ends to allow the silicone hose to still slide over but once there is a clamp on, it will seat better to prevent the hose from blowing off under high...

Tyres I think also make a massive difference Ian, The harder sidewall tyres don't balloon as well as a softer sidewall. I also think that even 0.1 bar difference in tyre pressure between vehicles can make a huge difference in sand/dune climbing capabilities. every motor irrespective of petrol or die...

Re: 17-21 Maart 2017 DUINE TRIP

Hmmmm.... so the diesel power was underestimated...... hahaha..... Don't worry, I am also surprised that it did as well as it did. Well done Michael for keeping our name up there with the top dogs !!! David, the only rational deduction I can make is that out of the 2500 - 3000 rpm that there is suff...

Re: My '98 GU 4.2D

Dustin, that looks bee-friggin-utiful !!!! well done !!! Dont want to be a stick in the mud, but did you check that that dump pipe will fit between the fire wall ( and various piping ) and the exhaust side of the turbo. I know that some turbos are slightly longer than others. I know for example the ...
