You have a rear steel bumper on yours, correct? Could you not build a swivel arm so the bike rack swings out to the side? Almost like the spare tyres do on the BZT Patrol bumpers?.. I did look at modifying the jerry can holder to fit a bike aswell. The problem is I hate having to move the swing arm...

Pleasure, Jip it has stood up to some rough roads. My main gripe is the fact that it bolts onto the tow bar, and I have to take the tow ball off each time. So if anyone is going to design your own, I suggest Googling some easier fixing methods. My thoughts exactly. With the trailer on I cannot use ...

Towball ones fit if you have a wheel on the door. My thule ball 3 bike rack it tight onto the spare wheel (with a spacer) and actually made the whole thing very secure.

I have to use an extension with the new bumper mounted wheel.

Thank you guys - Dankie manne. Cedric, mine is manual. Tinus' advice was simple, yet good. After going to the Neutral position on the 4WD gear lever, and shifting to 2WD after a pause in Neutral, it did the trick. The previous times I simply went straight from 4Hi to 2Hi, which did not disengage 4x...

I need to check the drivers manual ( will light stay one when..) but my common sense tells me that if the Patrol 4wd light should be switched purely by the position of the gear selection lever - similar to a reverse light, the 4wd / 2wd is nothing more than a shift between 2 gears in a manual gearb...

I have 33s with 2 inch lift and bits of the tupperware keep flicking off.

305/70r16 (IIRC)

OK on the road and around town but when flexing through full lock corners she is a rubbin'

I must admit I have never considered Matroosberg out of snow season (never had the opportunity to go in the snow either). It sounds like a good day trip.
