Re: 29 March - 09 April 2018 Botswana Explorer's Route

I haven't visited the forum much lately, so have just read through this entire thread to catch up. Sounds like it was an epic adventure with all the trials and tribulations - wish I'd also been there! Just for interest, were there any 4.8 autos there and how did they manage, and what technical probl...

Re: What LED Torch/Flashlight is best

Thanks for the inputs and advice guys. George, the one you propose looks like a good candidate too. Graham, I also have the Maglite conversion - its really a go-to flashlight. Was looking something a bit stronger but the advertising and price ranges just don't make sense to me, unless theres somethi...

What LED Torch/Flashlight is best

Hi Guys Was recently looking for a new and powerful flashlight and realized its a mine field out there with all sorts of ways that the performance is specified. Ive also seen some examples that friends have shown to me that cost a great deal but seem to be a dismal failure in my view. I would hate t...

Re: Cruise control

I find the one fitted to the 4.8 to be a pain in the butt - the control system is badly programmed and the car hunts severely between the top 3 gears with the slightest uphill, and when accelerating it flies past the set speed then decelerates too quick and to accel again needs to change down again....

Re: All terrain Tyre Test

:mytwocents: I say, go buy your grabbers, continentals, dunlops, coopers etc...me, I'll stick to what I know works best for me, and of course what I've seen with my own eyes. I would not move away from BFG's. The picture of a coopers with a crimp in it means nothing unless you can show that any othe...

Re: Body lift 50mm

Ek het onlangs n 50mm op my GQ gedoen. Ek sal nog n ordentlike post daaroor skryf. Ek het 10 Aluminium spacers laat draai. 2/75mm Diameter en 8/85mm Diameter. Die kleintjies is vir voor. Ek moes my clutch pypie verleng en die 2 pype van en na my Diesel filter. Daar is n paar ande rgoed wat verander...

What Maintenance for Hubs??

Hi Guys - anyone know what maintenance/servicing can done to the front hubs... they seem a bit rough now and as vehicle is 12 years old I'm thinking they need a good clean and lube. Once during the desert trip when they were under a lot of load I heard a loud couple of clicks from the front left hub...
