Barry Those tie rod arms are very strong on the patrols and will only fail under extreme conditions. In your case I suspect the heating when trying to loosen the nut , damaged the metal and most probably was not fastened properly afterwards. When loose , it would rattle until the thread is no more. ...

Johan, Self doen is maklik.Draai die enjin todat die nok by die klep wat pla die verste weg van die "follower" is. Draai dan die verstel skroef (14 en 17 sleutels) heeltemaal in. M a w tot by grootste gaping. Maak seker dat die kontak area van die "follower" en "valve stem cap" asook die nok nie bes...
