Hey chaps. Few questions here: 1) How often do you ACTUALLY repack bearing grease (Ps:i know what the manual says) 2) How often do you replace wheel bearing? 3) Have you truly trusted the Nissan Technician to do this correctly? 4) Dis the Nissan Technician execute this correctly? 5) Should i rather ...

I had my TC chain replaced under nissan warranty as i had/have the 4.2 rumbles (common particularly with Nissan Heavy duty clutch install).Nissan said they believed the chain to be stretched, so they replaced the chain and the noise was slightly less for a few days then back to normal. Turns out its...

Seen this happen. 2: Remove all paint on the pin thread at the end of the shocks, i us...

Re: SA spec 4.2td p/u engine

Hey Guys, Welcome to the forum. Thats a good question. To my knowledge the following is true: To clear things up i must first make clear that fortunately Nissan SA has had zero input into the TD42 variants of any kind, and certainly had nothing to do with the Turbo issued on our SA TD42ti motors as ...

Yes, correct.,... Only use 4wd on non- sealed surfaces ,... or you will end up with "diff wind-up",.. and possibly damage splines, ring and pinion, or more.

Re: Patrol Pickup 4.2D Tyres......advice?!

Original Nissan Patrol pickup rims are: 16" 6.5j I operate my 285x75x16 BFG KM2 on there for 5 years now and never had any issues . Rims are as strong if not stronger than the LC 80 series rims. Extremely heavy and rigid. I personally would opt for 3 ply side walls at at this hight it offers less ro...

Re: Patrol Pickup 4.2D Tyres......advice?!

The Front bar on my Patrol, as seen in previous pic, is an ONCA unit and fitted as Factory from Nissan when purchasing the SAFARI edition patrol pickup. It is the same bar that is used with the TD42Ti variant,... and to my knowledge i havnt heard/seen any negative issues being raised with the owners...

Re: If NSA won't advertise the Patrol Pickup..... I WILL.

Not Really... I went from 285's to 235's and back to 285's and i didnt notice any change in fuel. The thing that effect fuel the most is heavy headwind or a loaded roof rack... but both of these infulences have to be quite severe . The patrol 4.2 N/A seems to chug away at the same rate regardless. A...
