Patrol dash removal

Nissan refuted or nearly refuted my claim on the dashboard removal and their argument at the time was that the PO missed an oil service. I never knew being late for an oil service is the main cause for a bubbling on a dash. I decided to remove it myself. Tools needed 10 mm spanner and small socket. ...

Re: Fuel consumption experiment

Glags, your death wobble is most likely and unbalanced wheel, or panhard rod bush. Get teh wheels balanced properly -I prefer the finger adapter and not the cone. As for the 4.8 thirst that is what the 4.8 stands for 4.8km/l and whether your drive it like it's stolen or not it will remain in the sam...

Re: 4.8 Fuel Consumption improvements??

My 5 cents, the whole chip it , get more power better fuel consumption on a NA engine is a bit of a farce , On a turbo motor it is easy, crank the boost up and the seat-o-meter (bum on the seat feeling) will tell you there is more power. On a NA it’s so so. But my biggest concern is that you add ext...

Re: Brake seals leaking

Dot 5 is silicon and should not be mixed with other dots, but 5.1 is not. Some say dot 5 gives a bit of spongy feel but it is not hydroscopic like 3 and 4 and 5.1 and also does not damage paint. and it comes in colours, thus when you bleed . change the colourand then you keep on bleeding till you se...

Sub Tank Light and fuel tank cap not tight

Posting this as a note, sometime ago my sub tank light came on, I got the manual out to check how to read the codes but in the same time frame I also noticed a fuel smell after driving. Luckily the first place I checked was the filler cap (Sub tank) and it was loose- most likely not tightened by the...

Re: Newby Patrol Owner - Things to look out for

Re: Winch fairlead location

I prefer to have the fairlead at least level with the drum on the winch. Judging from the pic , if you have it below the number plate it will below the winch drum and I would guess most of the time the rope will run against the upper surface.

Re: Patrol 6th and 7th seats

Re: Patrol 4.8 spark plugs

If my memory serves me right the platinum plugs is rated fro 90k km and my service book states replace at 90k, unfortunately some dealers / service agents replace them with normal plugs that do not last as long. I found normal plugs, The plug number is correct and you need to split the manifold to r...
