Re: TD42 Rebuild

Below is a few pictures of the resizing of the conrod small ends to fit the new pistons. It is very interesting to see all the engineering work being done, for me that does not see this type of thing every day.

Hope it helps others as well.

Re: low range gears

40 % of my business is the manufacture of gears for various industries. The biggest obstacle to manufacturing the reduction box gear sets would be batch quantity. Again one would want an agreement on a specific reduction percentage that would suit everybody, in the hope to obtain some economies of s...

Re: low range gears

Hi JP Not sure who your post is directed too.. If you have a transfer box that one can open, it will be as good as 90 % for analysis and costing. The reduction box would have a larger output gear, dependant on reduction ratio and therefore more teeth, but it will at least provide an indication if it...

End-of-life report - Bridgestone M/T (D673)

We always tend to report on our tires shortly after purchase, when we still know almost nothing about them. Since few of us have enough money to replace tires when they're half-worn, how they perform later in their life is an important consideration. So I have decided to post an end-of-life report. ...

Re: Bonnet for my 2008 Partol

I have a scoop on iNyathi 's bonnet. BUT no inter cooler [maybe must buy up Malcolm's old inter cooler ???] Back to the scoop on iNyathi's bonnet -- Up to 140 KMH it makes as little as NO difference on the under bonnet temperature or pressure. At one time I blocked it off and closely monitored the ...

Re: Td42 Silvertop engines

Did some more measuring today and the silvertop piston as well as the TD42TI pistons have 15,5mm thick piston heads where the NA pistons only sport 10mm piston heads

Strengthening lower control arms

The rear suspension's lower control arms are probably the parts of the Patrol's suspension that are the most prone to damage. We have seen a number of these bend, probably due to bround contact, but when that happens they just fold up the next time they are loaded heavily... The easiest way to beef ...
